Q. Where can I go to get tutoring in reading, writing, math and other subjects?

The PHSC Academic Success Center offers tutoring in all subject areas. Each campus has an Academic Success Center that has a tutoring schedule available. You can also get help from the PHSC online writing center https://writing-center.phsc.edu/

The Academic Success Center (ASC) on each campus assists the student by providing various testing services and individualized materials for instruction. It functions to provide additional assistance in regular programs and to remedy educational deficiencies.

Individualized materials in the center include English, reading, mathematics, spelling, career development, and college survival skills. Self-instructional materials, programmed texts, and peer-tutorial assistance for students are available.

The Academic Success Center also has computers available for student use. Staff and tutors can assist students with course related programs such as MyMathLab.

Mission statement

The mission of the Academic Success Centers at Pasco-Hernando State College is to create an environment which supports students’ academic and personal success. The centers provide the elements necessary for academic success such as tutoring, various testing services, and individualized materials for instruction. In addition, the centers strive to foster students’ self-confidence, self-discipline, and motivation to learn by encouraging their participation in study groups, workshops, and orientations.
