Generally a book that is found in the reference area is not available for check out and must be used in the library during regular hours. Ocassionally the library director or head reference librarian will allow a reference book to be checked out for a specified length of time. It is always a good idea to ask, if you feel that you would like to check out a reference item. Please keep in mind that reserve items can never be taken from the library, even if they are marked as reference.
